Angie is Steve’s former partner and Rob’s current partner. She is a postgraduate student in Edinburgh and remains fond of Steve, but repeatedly insists that her relationship with Rob is serious. She rejects Steve’s attempt to resume sexual relations. She is perceptive about the rivalry surrounding Steve, though her speculation about the “constellation” of women is interpretive rather than factual.
At the end, Ginny’s pregnancy and Grace’s account of Steve’s other relationships leave Angie troubled but apparently committed to Rob.
